How to Create an Email Account in cPanel

Create professional email addresses ([email protected]) directly from cPanel. This guide covers creation, configuration, and management.

Creating an Email Account

  1. Log in to cPanel (via SSO or direct login).
  2. Under the Email section, click Email Accounts.
  3. Click + Create.

  1. Fill in the details:

- Username: the part before @ (e.g., `info, support, john`).

- Domain: select the domain (if you have multiple).

- Password: set a strong password using the generator or enter your own.

- Storage Space: set a quota (e.g., 1024 MB) or select Unlimited.

  1. Click + Create.

Your email account is created instantly.

Managing Email Accounts

On the Email Accounts page you can:

  • Check Email — open Webmail (Roundcube).
  • Manage — change password, quota, and other settings.
  • Delete — remove the email account.
  • Connect Devices — see setup instructions for various email clients.

Changing Password

  1. Click Manage next to the email account.
  2. In the Security section, enter a new password.
  3. Click Update Email Settings.

Changing Quota

  1. Click Manage.
  2. In the Storage section, enter the new quota in MB.
  3. Click Update Email Settings.

Accessing Your Email

Webmail

  1. Visit `https://yourdomain.com/webmail or https://yourdomain.com:2096`.
  2. Enter your email address and password.
  3. Select Roundcube.

Email Clients

Configure Outlook, Thunderbird, or mobile apps with:

  • IMAP: mail.yourdomain.com, port 993, SSL
  • SMTP: mail.yourdomain.com, port 465, SSL
  • Username: full email address

Email Authentication (SPF, DKIM)

For better deliverability:

  1. Go to Email > Email Deliverability.
  2. Click Manage next to your domain.
  3. cPanel shows if SPF and DKIM are properly configured.
  4. Click Install the suggested record if recommended.

Tip: Properly configured SPF and DKIM significantly reduce the chance of your emails going to spam.
