Reseller Hosting — Getting Started
Reseller hosting lets you create and manage hosting accounts for your own customers.
How It Works
- You purchase a reseller plan with a set amount of disk, bandwidth, and accounts
- You create individual hosting packages for your customers
- Each customer gets their own cPanel login
- You manage everything through WHM (Web Host Manager)
Setting Up
- Access WHM: Go to your server URL on port 2087 or use the WHM link in your dashboard
- Create packages: Define disk, bandwidth, and feature limits
- Create accounts: Assign a package to each customer account
- Brand your panel: Customize logos and themes in WHM
What Your Customers Get
- Their own cPanel account
- Email, FTP, database management
- File manager, backups, SSL
- No access to WHM or other accounts
White-Label Options
- Custom nameservers (ns1.yourdomain.com, ns2.yourdomain.com)
- Custom cPanel branding
- Your own support contact info
Managing Resources
- Monitor usage in WHM → Account Information
- Set limits per package to prevent over-allocation
- Suspend/unsuspend accounts as needed
Tips
- Start with a plan that matches your expected customer count
- Over-allocate moderately (not all accounts use full resources)
- Automate billing with a system like WHMCS
