How to Configure SEO Settings in Website Builder

SEO helps your website appear in Google and other search engine results. {{COMPANY_NAME}}'s Website Builder includes built-in SEO tools that make optimization easy without technical expertise.

Site-Wide SEO Settings

Site Title

Go to Settings > SEO. Enter your site title (business name + what you do). Example: "Acme Web Design - Professional Website Development in Mumbai".

Site Description

Write 1-2 sentences describing your website, under 160 characters. Include your primary keyword.

Per-Page SEO Settings

Meta Title

Open page > Page Settings > SEO. Keep under 60 characters. Format: Primary Keyword - Brand Name.

Meta Description

Compelling summary, 120-160 characters, include keywords naturally and a call-to-action.

URL Slug

Short, descriptive, hyphen-separated. Good: /web-design-services. Bad: /page-2.

Content SEO Best Practices

Heading Structure

  • H1 — One per page, main topic/keyword
  • H2 — Section headings
  • H3 — Sub-sections

Never skip levels.

Keyword Usage

Include primary keyword in H1, meta title, meta description, first paragraph, and image alt text. Do not stuff keywords.

Content Length

Minimum 300 words per page. Services/About pages: 500-1000 words. Blog posts: 800-2000 words.

Link between pages with descriptive anchor text (not "click here").

Image SEO

Alt Text

Every image needs descriptive alt text. Include keywords naturally. Good: "Modern office with team working". Bad: "IMG_001.jpg".

File Names

Rename files before uploading: web-design-portfolio.jpg not DSC_0001.jpg.

Compression

Under 500 KB per image. Use TinyPNG or Squoosh.

Technical SEO (Automatic)

Website Builder handles: sitemap generation, mobile responsiveness, SSL/HTTPS, clean HTML, and page speed optimization.

Google Search Console

Connect for advanced monitoring:

  1. Go to search.google.com/search-console
  2. Add your website property
  3. Verify via HTML tag or DNS record
  4. Monitor keywords, clicks, and crawl errors
