How to Connect Your Domain to Website Builder
Connecting a custom domain gives your site a professional address like www.yourbusiness.com. This guide walks through the connection process.
Prerequisites
- A registered domain name
- An active Website Builder plan with {{COMPANY_NAME}}
- Access to your domain's DNS settings
Option 1: Domain Registered with {{COMPANY_NAME}}
- In Website Builder, go to Settings > Domain
- Enter your domain name
- Click Connect Domain — DNS records are configured automatically
- Wait a few minutes and verify by visiting your domain
Option 2: Domain Registered Elsewhere
Step 1: Get Required DNS Records
In Website Builder > Settings > Domain, enter your domain. The system displays required records:

Step 2: Update DNS at Your Registrar
Log in to your registrar and add/update:
- A Record: Name
@, value = provided IP, TTL 3600 - CNAME Record: Name
www, value = provided target, TTL 3600 - TXT Record: Name
@, value = verification string, TTL 3600
Step 3: Wait for Propagation
Typically 15 minutes to 4 hours, maximum 48 hours.
Step 4: Verify
Back in Website Builder > Settings > Domain > click Verify. Should show "Connected".
SSL Certificate
Automatically provisioned after domain connection. HTTPS activates within 30 minutes of DNS propagation.
Troubleshooting
- "Domain not verified" — Check records, ensure exact values, wait 4+ hours
- "Site Not Found" — Verify A record IP, check if domain still points to old hosting
- SSL not working — Wait 30 minutes post-verification; contact support after 24 hours
Changing Domains
Remove current domain in Settings, add the new one, update DNS, wait for verification. Content stays the same.
