How to Pay an Invoice via Razorpay

{{COMPANY_NAME}} uses Razorpay as the payment gateway for all transactions. Razorpay is a secure, RBI-compliant payment processor that supports UPI, net banking, credit cards, debit cards, and wallets. This guide walks you through paying an invoice.

Finding Your Unpaid Invoice

  1. Log in to your Client Portal at {{SUPPORT_URL}}/client
  2. Click Invoices in the main navigation menu
  3. Look for invoices with status Unpaid
  4. Click on the invoice you want to pay

Alternatively, click Pay Invoice from the dashboard if you have outstanding invoices.

Paying the Invoice

Step 1: Open the Invoice

Click on the unpaid invoice to view its details. You will see:

  • Invoice number (PI- prefix for Proforma Invoice)
  • Items being billed (hosting, domain, etc.)
  • Subtotal, GST breakdown, and total amount
  • Due date

Step 2: Click Pay Now

  1. Click the Pay Now button on the invoice page
  2. The Razorpay checkout modal will open
  3. The amount will be pre-filled based on your invoice total

Step 3: Choose Payment Method

Razorpay offers multiple payment options:

  • UPI — Pay using Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, or any UPI ID
  • Net Banking — Pay through your bank's online banking portal
  • Credit Card — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, RuPay
  • Debit Card — Visa, Mastercard, RuPay
  • Wallets — Select digital wallets where available

Select your preferred method and follow the prompts.

Step 4: Complete Authentication

Depending on your payment method:

  • UPI — Approve the payment request in your UPI app within the time limit (usually 5 minutes)
  • Net Banking — Log in to your bank portal and authorize the transaction
  • Cards — Enter OTP or complete 3D Secure verification

Step 5: Confirmation

After successful payment:

  1. The Razorpay modal will show a Payment Successful message
  2. You will be redirected back to the invoice page
  3. The invoice status will change to Paid
  4. A Tax Invoice (INV-) will be generated automatically
  5. A confirmation email will be sent to your registered address
  6. Your service will be provisioned or renewed automatically

Tip: Do not close the browser window or navigate away during payment processing. This ensures the payment callback is received correctly.

Payment Security

  • All payments are processed through Razorpay's PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure
  • {{COMPANY_NAME}} never stores your card details
  • All transactions use SSL/TLS encryption
  • 3D Secure authentication is enforced for card payments

Troubleshooting

  • Razorpay modal not opening? Disable your ad blocker or pop-up blocker. Try a different browser. Ensure JavaScript is enabled.
  • Payment timed out? Start the payment process again. If using UPI, ensure you approve the request within 5 minutes.
  • Amount deducted but invoice still shows Unpaid? Wait 15 minutes — payment confirmation can sometimes be delayed. If it remains unpaid after 30 minutes, contact support with the Razorpay payment ID (starts with pay_).
  • Received "Payment Failed" error? Check your bank account to confirm no amount was deducted. If it was, it will be auto-refunded within 5-7 business days.
  • Want to pay a partial amount? Partial payments are not supported. The full invoice amount must be paid.
