How to Transfer Your Domain to {{COMPANY_NAME}}
Transferring your domain to {{COMPANY_NAME}} gives you centralized management of your domain and hosting in one place. The transfer process typically takes 5-7 days.
Before You Start
Ensure the following:
- Domain is at least 60 days old — ICANN policy prevents transfers within 60 days of registration or previous transfer
- Domain is unlocked — Disable the transfer lock at your current registrar
- You have the Auth/EPP Code — Obtain this from your current registrar
- Admin email is accessible — Transfer approval emails are sent to the WHOIS admin contact
- Domain is not expired — Renew at your current registrar if it is about to expire
Transfer Steps
Step 1: Prepare at Your Current Registrar
- Log in to your current registrar
- Unlock the domain (disable transfer lock)
- Get the Auth/EPP Code
- Ensure WHOIS privacy is disabled (some registrars hide the admin email)
Step 2: Initiate Transfer at {{COMPANY_NAME}}
- Go to {{SUPPORT_URL}}
- Search for your domain name
- Select Transfer (not Register)
- Enter the Auth/EPP Code
- Select the transfer period (transfers include 1 year extension)
- Complete checkout and payment
Step 3: Approve the Transfer
- You will receive an approval email at the WHOIS admin email address
- Click the approval link in the email
- Confirm the transfer
Tip: Check your spam/junk folder for the approval email. It is sent by the registry, not by {{COMPANY_NAME}}.
Step 4: Wait for Completion
- The transfer typically completes within 5-7 days
- Some transfers complete within 24 hours if approved promptly
- You can check the transfer status in your client portal
Step 5: Verify and Configure
Once the transfer completes:
- Log in to the {{COMPANY_NAME}} Client Portal
- Go to Domains — your domain will be listed
- Update nameservers if needed
- Configure DNS records
- Enable domain lock for security
What Transfers Include
- 1 year extension — Your domain expiry date is extended by 1 year
- Full DNS management — Manage all records from your dashboard
- Domain lock — Enabled by default after transfer
- Auto-renewal — Available for future renewals
Transfer Pricing
Domain transfers are priced at the standard annual renewal rate for each TLD. The transfer fee includes 1 year of registration.
Troubleshooting
Transfer Rejected
- Verify the Auth Code is correct (case-sensitive)
- Ensure the domain is unlocked
- Check the domain is not within the 60-day lock period
- Ensure the domain is not expired
Approval Email Not Received
- Check spam/junk folders
- Verify the WHOIS admin email is correct
- Disable WHOIS privacy at the current registrar
- Contact support if needed
Transfer Taking Too Long
- If not approved within 5 days, the transfer auto-completes (for most TLDs)
- Check with your current registrar if they are blocking the transfer
