Accessing Webmail in DirectAdmin

Webmail lets you read, compose, and manage your email from any web browser without configuring a desktop email client. DirectAdmin provides multiple webmail interfaces to choose from.

How to Access Webmail

Method 1: Direct URL

Open your browser and go to:

https://mail.yourdomain.com

or

https://yourdomain.com/webmail

Enter your full email address and password to log in.

Method 2: Via DirectAdmin

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin
  2. Go to E-Mail Manager > E-Mail Accounts
  3. Click the Webmail icon next to your email account
  4. You will be logged in automatically via SSO

Method 3: Via Client Portal (SSO)

  1. Log in to your {{COMPANY_NAME}} client portal
  2. Go to My Services and select your hosting plan
  3. Click Login to Webmail or use the Webmail link

DirectAdmin typically offers these webmail interfaces:

Roundcube

  • Modern, feature-rich interface
  • Drag-and-drop support
  • Contact management
  • Folder management
  • HTML email composition
  • Recommended for most users

RainLoop

  • Lightweight and fast
  • Clean, minimal interface
  • Good for mobile browsers

Composing Email

  1. Click Compose (or the + button)
  2. Enter the recipient in the To field
  3. Add a Subject
  4. Type your message in the editor
  5. Click Send

Managing Folders

  1. Click Settings (gear icon)
  2. Go to Folders
  3. Click + to create a new folder
  4. Drag and drop to organize

Setting Up Signature

  1. Click Settings > Identities
  2. Click your email address
  3. Enter your signature in the Signature field
  4. Check HTML signature if you want formatting
  5. Click Save

Contacts

  1. Click the Contacts icon in the top menu
  2. Click + to add a new contact
  3. You can also import contacts from a .vcf file

Tips for Better Webmail Experience

  1. Organize with folders — Create folders for projects, clients, or categories
  2. Use filters — Set up rules to automatically sort incoming mail
  3. Check spam folder — Occasionally review your junk folder for false positives
  4. Empty trash regularly — Deleted emails still count toward your quota
  5. Use keyboard shortcuts — Press ? in Roundcube to see available shortcuts

Troubleshooting

Cannot Log In to Webmail

  • Verify you are using the full email address as username
  • Reset your password via DirectAdmin
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Try an incognito window

Webmail Loads Slowly

  • Clear your browser cache
  • Try a different webmail client (e.g., switch from Roundcube to RainLoop)
  • If your mailbox is very large, archive old emails

Emails Not Showing Up

  • Check the correct folder (Inbox, not Spam or another folder)
  • Click Refresh or Check for new messages
  • Verify your MX records are correctly configured
