How to Order a Domain Name

Registering a domain name is the first step to establishing your online presence. This guide walks you through the complete process of searching for, selecting, and purchasing a domain name through {{COMPANY_NAME}}.

Step 1: Search for a Domain

1. Log in to your Client Portal at {{SUPPORT_URL}}/client
2. Click Register Domain or navigate to the domain search page
3. Enter your desired domain name in the search box (e.g., "mybusiness")
4. Click Search

The system will check availability across multiple extensions (.com, .in, .net, .org, etc.) and display the results.

Step 2: Check Availability

After searching, you will see:

• Available domains shown with a green indicator and the price
• Unavailable domains shown with a red indicator
• Premium domains that are available at a higher price

Tip: If your preferred .com domain is taken, consider alternatives like .in (great for Indian businesses), .net, .org, or newer extensions like .online, .store, or .tech.

Step 3: Select Your Domain

1. Click Add to Cart next to your preferred domain
2. Choose the registration period:

- 1 Year — Most common, lowest upfront cost

- 2 Years or more — Saves you from having to renew annually

1. The domain will be added to your shopping cart

Step 4: Configure Domain Options

Before proceeding to checkout, you may configure:

Nameservers

• Default Nameservers — Use {{COMPANY_NAME}} nameservers (recommended if you plan to buy hosting from us)
• Custom Nameservers — Enter nameservers from another hosting provider

Contact Information

Your domain registration requires valid contact details (registrant, admin, technical, billing). These are usually pre-filled from your account profile.

Tip: For .in domains, WHOIS privacy is automatically provided by the NIXI registry at no extra cost. You do not need to purchase a separate WHOIS privacy add-on.

Step 5: Proceed to Checkout

1. Review your cart to confirm the domain name and registration period
2. Apply a coupon code if you have one
3. Review the total amount including applicable GST
4. Select your payment method (Razorpay — UPI, Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card)
5. Complete the payment

Step 6: Domain Registration

After successful payment:

1. Your domain will be registered automatically within minutes
2. You will receive a confirmation email with registration details
3. The domain will appear in your Domains section in the Client Portal
4. For certain TLDs, you may need to verify your email address — check your inbox for a verification link

Important Notes

• Domain registration is non-refundable once the domain is registered with the registry
• Keep your contact details updated — Incorrect details can lead to domain suspension
• Enable auto-renew to avoid accidentally losing your domain
• Domain lock is enabled by default to prevent unauthorized transfers

Troubleshooting

• Domain search shows no results? Try a different browser or clear your cache. The search requires JavaScript to be enabled.
• Payment succeeded but domain still Pending? Domain registration can take up to 15 minutes. If it has been longer, contact support with your invoice number.
• Domain registered but website not loading? You need to configure DNS records or set up nameservers pointing to your hosting server.
